All parties' unity must for social development: DPM Pokhrel

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 22: Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwor Pokhrel has underscored the need of unity among all political parties for the social development.

BHAKTAPUR, Dec 22: Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ishwor Pokhrel has underscored the need of unity among all political parties for the social development. 


DPM Pokhrel said this while inaugurating the Hanumante cleanup social service programme and concluding the Araniko Highway cleanup campaign here today. None should do politics on social activities, he added. 


"Hanumante cleanup and the Araniko Higway cleanup are exemplary in the country. It has made the society further united and inspired everyone for social work," DPM Pokhrel said, hoping that Bhaktapur would be a model district.

In a different note, he said it was a crime to encroach upon public land, road, river and heritages. 


On the occasion, DPM Pokhrel handed over various materials used for disaster management to the district disaster management committee. The materials cost Rs 2 million. 


Former minister for industry Mahesh Basnet informed that third round of Araniko Highway cleanup campaign would begin soon. 


Other speakers representing various political parties and people's representatives in the district were univocal to continue the cleanup campaigns.
