All-party meeting takes eight-point decision regarding clash between two communities in Mahottari

JANAKPURDHAM, Oct 28: Local political workers, civil society leaders and local administration have reached an eight-point decision regarding the clash between Hindu-Muslim communities that took place on Thursday in Bhangha Municipality-8 of Mahottari.


Upendra Neupane, Assistant Chief District Officer of Mahottari, said that the all-party meeting called by the District Administration Office, Mahottari, has decided on eight points regarding the incident.

Assistant CDO Neupane said that the curfew imposed in Bhangha Municipality from 4PM on Thursday has been continued. According to him, the curfew is still in place despite the eight point decision regarding yesterday's incident. He said that a decision on curfew will be taken by a meeting of the security agencies.


On Thursday, two Hindus and Muslims clashed during a procession organized by a Hindu youth organization called 'Hindu Samrat Sena'. After 15 civilians and 10 policemen were injured in the clash, the local administration issued a prohibitory order in the area.
