DHARAN, Nov 11: While parties across the country have already started their campaigns for the upcoming parliamentary and provincial polls, the candidates in Dharan are struggling to find proper agenda to woo the voters. The candidates are in a time pressure as the date for the elections is inching closer.

However, both left and right forces are not sure about their agendas. They have made all necessary preparations for the mass gatherings, from printing banners to model ballot papers. For the past few days, both alliances have called meetings with the candidates and cadres but they will be making door-to-door visit from Sunday or Monday.

According to Prakash Rai, coordinator of the main Election Mobilization Committee of the left alliance, the election fever is slowly gripping the candidates and locals in the district. When asked about the slow pace of promotions, the candidates of the left alliance state that they don't need to do much to win in Sunsari 1 as their victory is 'sure'.

In Sunsari 1, the left alliance has fielded Jay Kumar Rai of CPN-UML for the parliamentary polls while Pradip Bhandari has been fielded for the provincial elections in constituency (a) and Bhim Acharya in constituency (b). Constituency 1 of Sunsari is known as a stronghold of communists due to which no candidates has been fielded under the First-Past-The-Post (FPTP) from the CPN (Maoist Center).

Both alliances want the 'best' election agendas for the polls and also want to make sure that their agendas are not similar to those of their rivals. Due to this they are struggling to fix their agendas. As per the leaders of both alliances, delayed poll campaigns won't hamper their victory as they are sure their voters are loyal to them.
