KATHMANDU, June 6: Ambassador of Nepal to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Sushil Kumar Lamsal presented his Letters of Credence to His Majesty Abdullah II, King of Jordan at the Basman Palace in Amman amidst a ceremony earlier on Monday.
On the occasion, Ambassador Lamsal conveyed the best wishes from President Ram Chandra Paudel to His Majesty King Abdullah II for his good health and happiness as well as for the peace, prosperity and happiness of the people of Jordan, according to a Press Release issued by the Embassy of Nepal in Cairo, Egypt. Lamsal is the residential ambassador of Nepal to Egypt.

His Majesty the King on the occasion extended his warm congratulations to Ambassador Lamsal on assuming his role as Ambassador to Jordan and assured that the Government would extend its full support to the Ambassador's efforts in advancing ties between the two countries.
Stressing on the need to expand bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and tourism, His Majesty the King said that the government was committed to ensuring the welfare of Nepali workers in the country.
Earlier on Sunday, Ambassador Lamsal had presented the copies of his Letters of Credence to Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ms Lina Al-Hadid at the Ministry. Matters relating to the advancement of bilateral ties, including through the conclusion of an agreement on setting up a consultation mechanism between the foreign offices of the two countries, were discussed during the meeting, adds the release.
Ambassador Lamsal also met with the General Secretary of the Ministry of Labour of Jordan Farouq Al-Hadidi and discussed issues relating to the implementation of Nepal-Jordan General Labour Agreement as well as holding of the inaugural meeting of bilateral mechanism on labor at an early date.
