Party’s next Secretariat meeting scheduled for November 28
KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Amid growing intra-party rift in the ruling Nepal Communist Party due to faction feud, Chairperson of the NCP and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said on Wednesday that he will present a separate political document during a meeting of the party’s Secretariat scheduled for November 28.
Oli told so during a meeting of the party’s Secretariat which took place briefly at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday, according to Narayan Kaji Shrestha, spokesperson for the NCP.

“The Secretariat meeting has been deferred for November 28 as Chairperson Oli wanted to table a separate political document,” Shrestha said.
Earlier on Friday, the other chairperson of the party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal had tabled a political document at the party’s Secretariat meeting.
In his 19-page political document, Dahal had accused the prime minister of failing in his responsibilities. He also urged Oli to make sacrifices and accept his mistakes for keeping the party unity intact, constitution and the federal democratic republican set-up.
While accusing Prime Minister Oli of failing to deliver on his election promises, Dahal also came heavily against Oli for the government’s failure to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dahal also wrote a five-page letter to PM Oli asking him indirectly to step down. In response, Oli sent a 10-page letter to Dahal asking him not to harbor factionalism in the party. He also defended the government.
According to Spokesperson Shrestha, all existing issues will be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the party’s Secretariat. In his political document, Oli will give answers to the questions raised by Dahal.
The party has called its Standing Committee meeting for December 3 and Central Committee meeting for December 10.
