KATHMANDU, Jan 9: All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) affiliated to the CPN-UML has padlocked the Office of the Controller of Examinations of Tribhuvan University (TU) for playing with the future of students and confusing the future of students.
On Sunday, the Central Committee of ANNFSU, Kathmandu District Committee, Lalitpur District Committee and other student leaders of the union objected to the negligence of the university administration in losing the answer book and re-taking the exam without publishing the exam results and demanded the resignation of the controller.

The Tribhuwan University had been delaying to publish the exam results for a year in which ANNFSU had repeatedly submitted demands to the university administration, held discussions, sit-ins and protests. The student leaders said that the university has been hiding its mistakes and weaknesses.
“Even after a year passed, the university could not publish the examination results of various levels and faculties. ANNFSU had demanded to publish the exam results immediately but after the incident of missing the answer book of Business Research Methods subject of 4th year students’ from symbol no. 702020001 to 702020252 enrolled on Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS) at Damak Multiple Campus, Jhapa came to light they have become serious and angry against the slowness, negligence and incompetence of the administration,” the statement issued by the ANNFSU states, 'The incompetent, irresponsible, morally degenerate Exam Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi and other employees who cannot even protect the answer book of the students should resign immediately and be guilty. Strong demands from the university administration and the government of Nepal to take strict action against the employees.”
Also, on Sunday, the students enchanted slogans such as resignation of the Exam Controller! Take strict action against guilty employees! Search for student answer sheets! Publish the exam results of all levels and faculties! and the students have said that they will continue the strike until the demands are met and they will hold a strong protest.
During the protest held after the lockdown, Milan Rai, Chairman of All Nepal National Free Students Union said, "Our union does not accept the fact that the university commits mistakes and students have to face trouble.” Govinda Bishta, coordinator of the ANNFSU special committee of the TU said, “It is not our desire to lock the examination controller's office indefinitely while such incapable people have no right to sit on the chair feeding from our fees.” If it is not solved immediately, our union will be forced to take physical action, he added.
