DAIJI, CHHELA (KANCHANPUR), Feb 22: Prime Minister K P Oli has clarified that any verdict made by the Supreme Court on the case involving the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) would be acceptable to them.

Addressing a function organized in Daija, Chhela in Kanchanpur district to inaugurate a new industrial estate, Prime Minister Oli said that his remarks about the court verdict during a rally organized by his faction of the party in Biratnagar last week was misinterpreted. “We won’t have any kind of restlessness no matter what verdict the court may pass. Since our focus is now on building the nation the verdict won’t make any difference to us,” he said.

Prime Minister Oli also said that they do not have a habit of issuing threats to the judiciary as they believe in a democracy that recognizes the principle of separation of powers. “Since we believe in democracy, we do not issue threats to the judiciary,” he said. “No matter what verdict the court may pass we will continue to remain involved in our mission to build the nation.”

Arguing that the country is already headed to the midterm election, Prime Minister Oli expressed confidence that the apex court would pass its verdict on the parliament dissolution case within the next few days. “The verdict on the case involving the dissolution of the parliament is likely within two-three days,” he said. “No matter what verdict the court may pass, we will continue to be on a mission to build the nation. Our politics does not stop there.”

Prime Minister Oli said his remarks that their movement will continue if the court’s verdict goes against people and the country was misinterpreted. “The movement I mentioned was not the movement characterized by protest rallies, vandalisms, and sloganeering. This is a movement for building the nation; this is a campaign to build the nation,” he said. He said that the movement he referred to is meant for bringing overall changes in the nation.
