APF, New Diamond to fight for title

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) and Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) will fight for the title of the 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament.

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) and Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) will fight for the title of the 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament. 


At the Dhorpatan Club’s Sports Ground, APF won two matches on Friday. The departmental team beat Shree Gaun Sports Club 25-12, 25-10, 25-8 on straight sets in the first match, and saw off TOPS Higher Secondary School 25-12, 25-11, 25-17 in the second.

APF, who is the only unbeaten team in the league with 47 points from 16 matches, climbed to the first place with more points than the NDA from the same number of matches. 


NDA, who was defeated 3-2 by APF in the first round match, needs three points to win the tournament against APF.  


In the other matches played on the same day, departmental teams Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) also won their respective matches. TAC overcame Meghauli Sports Foundation 25-18, 25-21, 25-21, while NPC thrashed Shree Gaun 25-8, 25-12, 25-17.
