APF still unbeaten

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) has continued its unbeaten streak in the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament on Thursday defeating the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) twice on the same day.

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: The departmental team Armed Police Force (APF) has continued its unbeaten streak in the ongoing 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament on Thursday defeating the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) twice on the same day. 


At the Dhorpatan Club’s Sports Ground at New Bus Park, APF defeated TAC 25-12, 25-20, 25-19 in the first match, while it saw off the same team 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 in the second match.

The first round match which was scheduled to be played last week was abandoned due to rain, and was played on Thursday. 


Likewise, table topper Shivam New Diamond Academy (NDA) has also registered two wins on the same day. 


NDA beat Meghauli Sports Foundation in the first match and TOPS Higher Secondary School in the second. NDA overcame Meghauli 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 in the first, while the second match saw NDA beating TOPS on straight sets of 25-11, 25-8, 25-16. 


With the wins, NDA is still at the top of the standings with 46 points from 16 matches, while APF, who has played two games less than NDA, has 41 points in hand. TOPS is third with 33 points from same number of matches as that of the departmental team. NPC is fourth with 30 points, while Shree Gaun is fifth with 21 points.
