Arghakhanchi fire updates: one more succumbs to burn injuries

ARGHAKHANCHI, May 10: One more person succumbed to burn injuries he suffered during a fire at Bhumikastan Municipality in Arghakhanchi on Tuesday. With this, the death toll from the fire has reached four.

ARGHAKHANCHI, May 10: One more person succumbed to burn injuries he suffered during a fire at Bhumikastan Municipality in Arghakhanchi on Tuesday. With this, the death toll from the fire has reached four. 


Police identified the latest victim as Madhav Belbase, 36, of Bhumikstan-2 and he breathed his last at Kirtipur Hospital in Kathmandu, according to District Police Office chief, DSP Mukund Rijal.

Prior to that, three people succumbed to the injuries they had suffered in the course of their failed attempts to put out the fire spread in the house of Padam Belbase of Tirtire of Bhumika Than-2. They are Pitambar Belbase, 72, Padam, 55, and Ghanshyam Belbase, 52.  


Initially, the injured were rushed to the District Hospital Sandhikharka and then to the Mission Hospital Palpa. They were referred to Kathmandu and two: Pitambar and Padam died on the way and Ghanshyam passed away upon reaching the Kirtipur Hospital, according to local Bishnu Belbase.      


The fire was later doused with the help of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and people's representatives.
