Armed Police, New Diamond to vie for women’s volleyball title

KATHMANDU, March 16: Host departmental team Armed Police Force and Shivam New Diamond Academy are set to vie for the ongoing fifth Open Women’s National Volleyball Tournament title scheduled for Friday.

KATHMANDU, March 16: Host departmental team Armed Police Force and Shivam New Diamond Academy are set to vie for the ongoing fifth Open Women’s National Volleyball Tournament title scheduled for Friday. 


At the Armed Police Force headquarters in Halchowk, New Diamond defeated the other departmental team Nepal Police Club and Armed Police beat the third departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club to reach the final.

In the first semifinal match played on Thursday, New Diamond beat Nepal Police in a straight set of 3-0 in 25-10, 25-22, 25-13. New Diamond had reached the last four winning both its group games. 

Likewise, Armed Police defeated Army even more comfortably in straight sets of 25-9, 25-9, 25-10. Armed Police had reached semifinals winning both its games as well. 


The tournament, being played in league cum knockout format, will see the third-placed match played earlier on the same day on Friday.
