KATHMANDU, June 28: The voting in the second phase of local level elections is taking place peacefully across the 35 districts in province 1, 5 and 7. The government has deployed 163,000 security personnel, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army.
There are no incidents of violence reported so far.
NA defuses bomb at Thimi
Meanwhile, Security personnel have disposed an explosive, which was found near the District Forest Office Polling Station in Banke.
A team of Nepal Army was deployed to defuse the bomb. Initially, the news of bomb created some havoc among the voters. The security is at high alert in the second phase of local level elections.
Likewise, another team of Nepal Army defused a bomb set by an unidentified group near a polling station at Dubekol of Khotang district. The army defused the bomb set near Gangodaya Secondary School at 6:55 in the morning.
Despite attempts of unidentified groups to create havoc among voters, the voting has been taking place peacefully across the country.
