Around one million looted in Rajbiraj

RAJBIRAJ, Oct 10: A man was robbed of around one million in cash this afternoon at Rajbiraj, Siraha. An unidentified man looted Mohammed Ijala a Miya, resident of Nahar chowk of Maleth in the Rajbiraj Municipality-9 while on his way to the Citizen's Bank to deposit the amount he had withdrawn from the Rajbiraj-based Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) earlier, police said.

RAJBIRAJ, Oct 10: A man was robbed of around one million in cash Tuesday afternoon at Rajbiraj, Siraha. An unidentified man looted Mohammed Ijala a Miya, resident of Naharchowk of Maleth in the Rajbiraj Municipality-9 while on his way to the Citizen's Bank to deposit the amount he had withdrawn from the Rajbiraj-based Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) earlier, police said. 



The looter all of a sudden approached Miya and his son who was carrying the money bag at that time, snatched the bag from his son, and ran away in dramatic fashion, the District Police Office, Saptari said. 



Miya had withdrawn the amount deposited in the bank account of his spouse Halima Khatun to realise their plan to open a hardware shop at Maleth from this Tihar. 



Meanwhile, police have arrested a youth in connection with the looting. Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh said they have launched a manhunt for the looter. RSS
