Artists’ role vital in strengthening Nepal-India relations: Mahato

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Senior leader of the Democratic Socialist Party, Rajendra Mahato has said that the role of artists is important to strengthen Nepal-India relations. He said so at the farewell function of the artists of Mithila Natya Kala Parishad (MINAP), Janakpur for participating in an international level cultural program in Ayodhya, India.

KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Senior leader of the Democratic Socialist Party, Rajendra Mahato has said that the role of artists is important to strengthen Nepal-India relations. He said so at the farewell function of the artists of Mithila Natya Kala Parishad (MINAP), Janakpur for participating in an international level cultural program in Ayodhya, India.


He also mentioned that the relationship between Nepal and India dates back to the Ramayana period. Senior leader Mahato said that the entire Ramayana was incomplete without Sita, adding that the Ramayana served as a bridge between Nepal and India.

According to Mahato, the art of Mithila has advanced since ancient times and he would extend all possible support for its development. He said that the role being played by MINAP for Mithila culture and its development is important as well.
