UPDATE: Death toll climbs to 14 in Sindhupalchowk bus accident

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 15: The death toll in Sindhupalchowk bus accident has climbed to 14. At least 11 persons died when a bus met with an accident at Sunkoshi rural municipality in Sindhupalchowk district on Sunday morning.

SINDHUPALCHOWK, Dec 15: The death toll in Sindhupalchowk bus accident has climbed to 14. 


The bus met with an accident at Sunkoshi rural municipality in Sindhupalchowk district on Sunday morning. 17 others were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred when the bus (Ba 4 Kha 4468) en route to Bhaktapur district from Kalinchowk of Dolakha skidded off the highway and plunged down from Chha Kilo area.


Rajesh Dahal, a police officer at Sindhupalchowk Traffic Police Office who is currently being involved in rescue operations, confirmed that at least 11 persons died in the accident. According to him, few others have sustained injuries. The injured have been rushed to Dhulikhel and Khadichaur for treatment.


"We are carrying out rescue operations. The death toll may increase," he said.
