At least 25 injured as clash erupts between cadres of Democratic Socialist Party and Maoist Center in Sarlahi

RAUTAHAT, May 11: Clashes broke out between the cadres of two parties in Sarlahi on Tuesday evening– the last day of the election campaign. 


The clash took place in Godaitan Municipality-6 of Sarlahi when the two rival groups met on their way in the course of their election campaign.

At least 25 people have been injured in a clash between the cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) and Democratic Socialist Party (DSP) in Godaitan Muncipality-6 in Ramban.


Clashes broke out between the cadres of the two parties after Pawan Devi Gupta, Ward Chairperson candidate from Maoist Center and another Ward Chairman candidate from Democratic Socialist Party-Nepal Prakash Prasad Gupta met with their supporters in Ramban while showing their power.


The injured have been treated at the local clinic. Police have been mobilized extensively after the clash between the two sides. According to the District Police Office, Sarlahi, 10 vans reached Ramban and the situation is normal.


On the last day of the election campaign, the candidate and the party hold a huge demonstration to show that the public opinion is in their favor.
