Athletes off to Brunei

KATHMANDU, March 16: A three-member Nepali athletics team including two players left for Brunei on Wednesday to compete in Brunei Open International Athletics Championship.

Som, Yam to compete in Brunei Open Athletics Championship


The event will be held in Darussalam, the capital city of Brunei, on Friday and Saturday.  Yam Sajan Sunar and Som Bahadur Kumal will represent Nepal in the event. Yam Sajan will compete in 100 m and 200 m sprints while Som will vie in 400 m and 800 m races respectively, according to RK Bista, the secretary of Nepal Athletics Association (NAA). 


The athletes will be accompanied by Janak Rawal, a member of NAA, as official. Meanwhile, Rajiv Bikram Shah, the president of NAA, bade farewell to the team.
