‘Awareness among people on heart diseases has improved in Nepal’

September 29 is observed as World Heart Day. Established by the World Heart Federation in 2022, World Heart Day is observed as a campaign that seeks to educate people around the world that cardiovascular diseases including heart diseases and stroke are the leading causes of death in the world.

September 29 is observed as World Heart Day. Established by the World Heart Federation in 2022, World Heart Day is observed as a campaign that seeks to educate people around the world that cardiovascular diseases including heart diseases and stroke are the leading causes of death in the world.


The Day also highlights actions that individuals can take to prevent and control heart diseases. Republica caught up with Senior Cardiologist Dr Om Murti Anil to learn about the current state of heart diseases in Nepal and the ways to prevent such diseases.
