Bagmati Province Chief Minister Jamkattel taking vote of confidence today

KATHMANDU, March 22: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Shalik Ram Jamkattel is taking a vote of confidence today. 


A meeting of the provincial assembly has been called at 3 pm today to take the vote of confidence.


Leader of CPN (Maoist Center) and Minister of Physical Infrastructure of Bagmati Province Yuvraj Dulal (Sharad)  said that Chief Minister Jammakattel is preparing to take a vote of confidence.

Provincial Secretary Krishnahari Khadka said that there is no agenda other than taking the vote of confidence in today's Provincial Assembly meeting.


Jamkattel, leader of CPN (Maoist Center) was appointed Chief Minister with the support of 105 MPs from 6 parties, including Nepali Congress (NC) , UML, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on January 9. 


He also took the vote of confidence on January 17. After the RPP withdrew its support, Chief Minister Jammakattel is taking the vote of confidence again today.


There are 110 MPs in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly. 56 MPs should support the vote of confidence. There are 37 MPs from NC, 21 MPs from CPN (Maoist Center) and 7 MPs from CPN (Unified Socialist )Party in the Bagmati Provincial Assembly. 


Likewise, there are 27 MPs from CPN-UML, 13 from RPP, 3 from  Nepal labor and Peasant  Party 2 from Hamro Nepali Party.
