BAITIDI, April 12: At least six persons died on the spot in a jeep accident that occurred at Patan Municiplaity-8, Jholekmod in Baitadi on the Khodape-Bajhang road section along the Jayaprithvi Highway.
Six persons of the same village in Bajhang died in the accident. The deceased have been identified as Mane Bohora, 60, Banjh, Nare Bohora, 42, Gorakh Bohora, 35, Man Bahadur Dhami,45, Birkha Dhami, 45, and Bire Dhami, 40, of of Kedarsyun Rural Municipality-5 in the district.
Two killed, five injured in Makawanpur tractor mishap
The ill-fated jeep (Se 1 Ja 764) en route to Bagthala of Bajhang from Jhulaghat met with the accident at 11.00 pm on Tuesday, shared Baitadi Police Spokesperson Inspector Yogesh Khatri.
Five other passengers traveling in the same jeep narrowly escaped the fatality as they managed to jump before the accident. The jeep carrying 12 passengers had fallen down 500 meters off the road. The jeep driver is absconding. Reason behind the accident is yet to be established.
Further investigation into the accident is underway, according to the District Police Office, Baita.
