Bara bus accident: death toll reaches seven, deceased identified

BARA, Aug 24: The death toll in a bus accident that took place near the Churiya Mai temple of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolis-22 in Bara in the wee hours today has reached seven.

BARA, Aug 24: The death toll in a bus accident that took place near the Churiya Mai temple of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolis-22 in Bara in the wee hours today has reached seven.


Bara District Police Office Spokesperson Dadhiram Neupane said, of the dead, three died on the spot while four succumbed to injuries amidst medical treatment.

The deceased include Bahadur Singh, 67, resident of Rajasthan, India, Satyawati, 60, resident of the same place, Rajendra Chaturvedi, Shrikant Chaturvedi,70, Baijanti Devi, 67, Mira Devi, 65, and Bijay Lal, 41, of  Mahottari Loharpati-5. Three Nepali and 14 Indian citizens were injured in the accident. .


The bus (Madhesh Province 3001 Kha 7994) en route to Janakpur from Kathmandu veered off the road and fell around 15 meters at 1 AM today. They were heading to Janakpur after visiting the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu.


The injured are being treated in various health facilities in Hetauda.
