Basketball team leaving for India today

KATHMANDU, July 4: A 15-member men's basketball team is set to leave for India on Tuesday to take part in the South Asian Basketball Qualifiers slated for July 6 to 8 in Bangalore.

KATHMANDU, July 4: A 15-member men's basketball team is set to leave for India on Tuesday to take part in the South Asian Basketball Qualifiers slated for July 6 to 8 in Bangalore.



Host India, Nepal, Bangladesh are taking part in the event as the winner will qualify for the the FIBA Asia Challenge 2016 to be held in Iran in September.



The qualifying round will be played in a round robin league format. Nepali team comprises of Sadish Pradhan (skipper), Binod Maharjan (vice-captain), Rajiv Joshi, Sonam Lama, Robin Khatri, Ayush Singh, Saurabh Shrestha, Bikram Joshi, Ashim Shrestha, Sagar Thapa, Mabindra Bhandari and Ajay Kushwaha.



Similarly, Dinesh Chandra Nakarmi and Biku Maharjan are the coaches, while referee Raj Kumar Maharjan will officiate the event.
