Basnet’s strike clinches point for Tribhuvan Army Club

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: The match between domestic football rivals Tribhuwan Army Football Club (TFC) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) held at Dashrath Stadium on Monday ended in a nail biting draw, despite both the team’s successful effort to shoot the ball past the goalkeeper.

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: The match between domestic football rivals Tribhuwan Army Football Club (TFC) and Nepal Police Club (NPC) held at Dashrath Stadium on Monday ended in a nail-biting draw, despite both the team’s successful effort to shoot the ball past the goalkeeper. 


The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with each team claiming a point to climb the league tables. A goal from Santosh Hemram at the 51-minute mark of the second half gave NPC the lead against the opposition.

However, the lead was short-lived as Bibek Basnet’s entry into the field at the 58th minute of the match turned out to be in favor of the TFC. The substitute shot a thunderous strike to beat NPC’s goalkeeper in the 61 minute of the match, just three minutes after he entered the pitch.


Sesehang Angdembe Limbu of TFC was announced the man of the match. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
