'Batgirl' directors ‘saddened and shocked' after Warner Bros.Discovery shelved the movie

The directors of the superhero film, 'Batgirl' said that they were 'saddened and shocked' that Warner Bros. Discovery decided to shelve their movie, instead of releasing it in theatres or distributing it on streaming services.

The directors of the superhero film, 'Batgirl' said that they were 'saddened and shocked' that Warner Bros. Discovery decided to shelve their movie, instead of releasing it in theatres or distributing it on streaming services.  


According to  reports, Warner bros announced the axing of their comic book tentpole will not be released in theatres or HBO max streamer, despite being fully shot and in post - production. The filmmaking duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, best known for heelming "bad boys for life," and episodes of Ms.Marvel," reacted on social media to the film's shelving.

According to report of  nbcnews, "We still can't believe it" says Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah in a statement posted on Instagram, "as directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves. Maybe one day they will insha Allah"


The news was released on Tuesday by Warner Bros, with 'Batgirl' budget roughly $90 million, starring Leslie Grace and featuring Micheal Keaton, J.K. Simmons and Brendan Frraser. Grace also addressed the situation, saying "I am proud of the love, hard work and intention of all our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over seven months in Scotland".
