KATHMANDU, Dec 11: Failing to chase the target of 144 runs, Chitwan Tigers lost to Bhairahawa Gladiators by 12 runs in the ongoing Everest Premier League 2018. The Chitwan Tigers was all out for 131 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In the second match of the third day held at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, opening batsman Paul Stirling of Chitwan Tigers scored highest 38 runs in 23 balls including five fours and two sixes. Likewise, John Simpson (26), Shahab Alam (16) and Dilip Nath (12) scored double-digit runs. Other batsmen including captain Prithu Baskota returned to the pavilion in single digit run.

Earlier, Bhairahawa Gladiators had set a 144-run target for Chitwan Tigers at the seventh match of the EPL. Sent in to bat first after losing the toss, Bhairahawa Gladiators was all out for 143 runs in the 19.3 overs.
Allrounder Ryan ten Doeschate scored highest 35 runs including three sixes and one four off 25 balls, right-hand-batsman Pradeep Singh Airee smashed 26 runs with one six and three fours off 18 balls while Ravi Inder Sing contributed 25 runs including three fours off 21 balls for Gladiators.
In reply, Sagar Dhakal grabbed three wickets; giving away 27 runs in four overs, George Scott took two wickets while Paul Stirling, Lalit Bhandari and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed one wicket each.
A total of six teams (Kathmandu Kings XI, Pokhara Rhinos, Lalitpur Patriots, Chitwan Tigers, Bhairahawa Gladiators, Biratnagar Warriors - are competing for the EPL-2018 title in the round-robin format. The tournament, which began on December 8, will be over on December 22.
