KATHMANDU,
Buddha Jayanti Samaroh Samiti, Muni Vihar Inacho, Bhaktapur, and Cycle Connect Bhaktapur have announced to jointly organize a bicycle excursion of the Buddhist heritage sites in Bhaktapur on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti. The participants will visit various monasteries, Bahabahis and Chaityas of Bhaktapur.

The bicycle rally will start from Dharmottam Mahavihar (Muni Vihar) Inacho at 7 AM on May 14. The excursion team will then head to Indira Varna Mahavihar Inacho, Mangal Dharmadeep Mahavihar (Jhorbahi) Golmadhi, Lun Baha, Sukuldhoka Chaturbrahma Mahavihar Sakotha via Taumadhi to Akhandashil Mahavihar-Bolache, Naasmanaa.
During the excursion, Ganesh Ram Ranjit, a heritage scholar and writer, will inform the participants about the history and legends related to various Buddhist heritages in Bhaktapur. According to the organizers, the excursion is being organized to educate the young generation of Bhaktapur about the heritage and make them aware of its preservation.
Sumeet Bala, president of Cycle Connect Bhaktapur, has invited all to participate in the program and study the heritage and develop bicycle culture in Bhaktapur. He also called on the organizers to contribute to spreading the message of peace, friendship and compassion of Lord Buddha.
