BHARATPUR, Feb 12: Bharatpur Metropolitan City is going to celebrate the year 2080 BS as the year of tourism. The year of tourism is going to be celebrated by publicizing and promoting 30 tourist destinations within the metropolis.
The metropolis held a discussion here today with the stakeholders regarding the visit year. The participants of the discussion suggested announcing a ‘visit Bharatpur year’ so as to prolong the stay of the tourists in the metropolis. Tourism professionals said that special programs should be announced for the visit year.

They suggested that tourism committees should be formed in all wards within the metropolis. They said that the local level committees in the wards should be activated to make tourism year 2080 BS a success.
Dinesh Kumar Chuke, president of the Hotel Professional Federation of Nepal (HPFN), said in the program that the economic situation is deteriorating and there is a need for improvement. There are more than 250 hotels in Bharatpur Metropolis and more than 600 hotels in the district. He said that the hotels in the district should be made operational.
Dr Biswa Subedi, tourism expert of Bharatpur Metropolis, said that everyone's support is needed to promote Bharatpur Metropolis as a tourist area nationally and internationally. He said that the visit year will be positive for improving the deteriorating economy.
President of Chitwan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chun Narayan Shrestha, suggested that it would be better to organize night entertainment programs during the visit year.
Chitrasen Adhikari, deputy mayor of Bharatpur and organizer of the Bharatpur Visit Year 2080 BS executive committee, clarified that the local government is serious about the development of the tourism industry and tourism business.
