KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Standing Committee Member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the Oli-led government has failed to live up to the people's expectations.
Bhattarai, who is also a parliamentarian of the NCP, told so during a recent interview with Republica's Shree Ram Poudel and Prakash Timalsina.
"I am not really satisfied with the government's performance as it has not been able to live up to the people's expectations. But it does not mean that the government is totally moving on a wrong track," he said. Bhattarai, a vocal critic of party co-chair KP Sharma Oli, said that the government's works should be outcome-oriented.

However, he praised the government for maintaining balanced ties with the neighboring countries and donor agencies.
Bhattarai also criticized the top party leadership for failing to settle party's unification process at the district and provincial levels even six months after the merger between the CPN (UML) and the CPN (Maoist Centre).
"Party unification process at the district and provincial levels is not happening even six months after our two parties merged and launched new party," he said while expressing dismay over the working style of the party leadership.
Bhattarai also expressed anger over the delay in convening the party's central committee meeting, where the government's performance is likely to be evaluated.
