Bibek Thapa Magar held for spreading fake news on COVID-19

KATHMANDU, March 21: Police on Saturday apprehended a youth from Sipadol of Bhaktapur on the charge of spreading fake news on COVID-19 through social media.

KATHMANDU, March 21: Police on Saturday apprehended a youth from Sipadol of Bhaktapur on the charge of spreading fake news on COVID-19 through social media.


According to Spokesperson of Nepal Police Sailesh Thapa Kshetri, Bibek Thapa Magar, 20, of Ramechhap was arrested by Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police.

Accused Magar posted the audio on an online portal-Jhorleynews according to police.


Earlier, a fake audio mentioning coronavirus case at Norvic Hospital went viral on social media.  The 1-minute audio has said Norvic Hospital had coronavirus case and it was informed by the employee there.
