Bill to amend Constitutional Council Act presented in lower house

KATHMANDU, March 19: A Bill to amend the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) Act, 2010 has been presented in a session of the House of Representatives (HoR), the lower house of the Federal Parliament, today.

KATHMANDU, March 19: A Bill to amend the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) Act, 2010 has been presented in a session of the House of Representatives (HoR), the lower house of the Federal Parliament, today.  


Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, on behalf of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, tabled the bill in the House session today.

Likewise, HoR Rule Drafting  Committee member Ramesh Lekhak presented a proposal seeking a consideration over the  committee report- 2079 BS and the proposal was endorsed unanimously by the lower house. It was tabled on behalf of committee chairman Chitra Bahadur KC. 


The meeting also endorsed a proposal to consider the 'Monitoring and Assessment Bill, 2078 BS' sent by the National Assembly along with recommendation.  It was endorsed by the majority of parliamentarians. The bill was not presented in the previous meeting due to a lack of quorum.   


At the end of the House meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire apprised the HoR of the schedule of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to seek a vote of confidence on Monday.  The next meeting of the lower house has been fixed for  1:00 pm on March 20.
