He argued that there is no any reason to delay the finalization of the Bill by the Parliament and the Parliamentary Committee as there are no differences on the issue even among the political parties. Minister Koirala also said that the government is committed to pass the bill through the parliament so as to immediately proceed to reconciliation with the consent of the victims and discuss and resolve serious human rights violations in detail.
He said, "There were many effects when we delayed this issue. The victims suffered a lot. In fact, we are not able to compensate them. Now, in the case of human rights violation, as long as the victims want, as long as the victims have consent, they can go to reconciliation. Therefore, the government and all the parties should be in one place. I have not known that all political parties have different ideologies on this. So we need to solve this issue as soon as possible.”
Minister Koirala mentioned that conflict victims are not even able to get compensation due to delay in endorsing the amendments bill so far. He said that all parties concerned should work with commitment to provide them justice.
