Bir Hospital fires five nurses on charge of AWOL

KATHMANDU, March 14: Bir Hospital has fired five staff nurses from service for being absent without leave (AWOL).

KATHMANDU, March 14: Bir Hospital has fired five staff nurses from service for being absent without leave (AWOL).


Those removed from service are Sushila Dhakal, Shanti Lamsal, Samjana Shrestha, Jamuna Sitaula and Om Devi Pun working in the fifth grade.

According to the hospital administration, they were fired for being on leave without informing the hospital and for remaining out of contact even after the hospital issued a notice in this regard.


According to the hospital, Dhakal has been out of contact from February 27, 2020, Lamsal from July 6, 2018,  Shrestha from September 18, 2019,  Sitaula from March 15, 2018 and Pun from December 28, 2018 without informing the hospital administration.


According to the hospital, the five people were removed from service after they failed to come  into contact with the hospital administration despite being issued a notice to contact them within 30 days.
