MORANG, Sept 18: Following the announcement of protests by various organizations in Biratnagar, the capital of Koshi province, a two-month prohibition order has been enforced in the city.
On Sunday, the Morang District Administration Office issued a notice outlining restricted areas and imposing a two-month prohibition order in multiple parts of Biratnagar. This action comes in response to planned protests by various organizations within the city. Birendra Kumar Yadav, the Chief District Officer of Morang, issued the notification on Sunday, with the prohibition order taking effect from 6 AM on September 18.

According to the notice issued by CDO Yadav, activities such as meetings, processions, gatherings, rallies, and sit-ins are strictly prohibited within the designated restricted areas, as per Section 6 (3A) of the Local Administration Act 2028.
The restricted areas encompass the region from Provincial Assembly Devkota Chowk in the East to Koshi Hospital Chowk in the West, including the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers Office, extending from Rodshesh Chowk to Dakshin Jatuwa Chowk. Additionally, the prohibition extends to areas within a 300-meter radius of the Chief Minister's residence, the Provincial Chief's office, and the district administration office, spanning from Damfe Chowk in Morang towards the east.
