A team led by Narayan Bahadur Shrestha, a senior officer of the Livestock Development Committee, reached the farm and destroyed the chicken, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Himalaya Kumar Shrestha.

Meanwhile, following the detection of the avian influenza, poultry farmers in the area have buried dead chickens and sold live ones in the market overnight in a bid to avoid loss, complained the locals. In response, the district administration office has urged the farmers not to resort to such activities, while urging the local people to remain alert.  RSS
