Bodies of two teenagers recovered from Rapti River

NEPALGUNJ, June 9: The bodies of two persons who had gone missing in the Rapti River have been found. The bodies of 18-year-old Tribal Shahi and 18-year-old Lekraj Chhantyal of Simkot Rural Municipality-8, Humla, who had been living in Dhambohji- 1 of Nepalgunj were found this morning.

NEPALGUNJ, June 9: The bodies of two persons who had gone missing in the Rapti River have been found. The bodies of 18-year-old Tribal Shahi and 18-year-old Lekraj Chhantyal of Simkot Rural Municipality-8, Humla, who had been living in Dhambohji- 1 of Nepalgunj were found this morning.

They went to the Rapti River on Wednesday for the funeral of their landlord. When they did not return home, a search was conducted at around 6 PM yesterday during which two pairs of clothes and a mobile phone were found near the river. It was suspected that they had gone there to take a bath after the funeral.


According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhusudan Neupane of the District Police Office, Banke, the bodies were found in the Rapti River on Thursday morning. Police suspect that they might have drowned while swimming. According to the police, both of them had sat for the Grade 12 exams from Dhambojhi Secondary School in Nepalgunj.
