Body of US climber found two years after death in the Everest

The body of an American national who died two years ago in the Everest region has been found on Saturday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Christopher John Kulis, who died during his descent from the summit of Mt Everest on May 27, 2019.

SOLUKHUMBU, May 24: The body of an American national who died two years ago in the Everest region has been found on Saturday. According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Christopher John Kulis, who died during his descent from the summit of Mt Everest on May 27, 2019. 


During his time of death, rescuers were unable to take back his body due to unfavorable weather conditions. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kavit Katwal, the body was recovered and brought to Camp 2 by a group of climbers who were returning from their expedition. He also said that efforts are being made to retrieve the body through a helicopter.

According to police, the 61-year-old climber, whose passport number is 509651062, died at camp 4 after suffering a heart attack. Late Christopher was accompanied by 14 other climbers to the summit Mt Everest with Tag Nepal Trekking Company.
