KATHMANDU, Oct 4: Two major publications on federalism published by Governance Facility were launched amid a special function held in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Chief Information Commissioner Krishna Hari Banskota and the founding president of Jagaran Nepal, Sharmila Karki, launched the publications entitled, Federal Nepal: The Provinces Socio-Cultural Profiles of the Seven Provinces and Why Governance Matters: Stories of Partnership Initiatives.

While the first book provides data and analysis of socio-cultural status of seven provinces, the second book is a collection of narratives reflecting experiences of people, how their lives can change for better when the authorities act in line with constitutionally enshrined governance values.
Kasper Anderskov said that the two books published as a part of federal Nepal series are designed to support Nepal's federal restructuring process.
Speaking on the occasion, head of Governance Facility Caroline Vandenabeele said the new publications aim at providing various aspects of information relating to the newly carved federal states.
“It is important for policy makers and service providers to understand socio-cultural diversity of the provinces. We hope that our new publications could be useful to them,” she said.
Also speaking on the occasion, head of DANIDA Program Support Unit Kasper Anderskov said that the two books published as a part of federal Nepal series are designed to support Nepal's federal restructuring process. He said that the publications could help ensure more inclusion and accountability as Nepal begins implementation of federal system of governance.
