KATHMANDU, April 27: Both the Nepali teams have advanced into the final of the ongoing South Asian Regional Qualifiers Tournament for the ITF Asia U-12 Team Tennis Championship on Thursday.
In boys’ last four match played at the Satdobato Tennis Court, Nepal beat Pakistan 2-1 in the semifinals.
In boys’ singles, Nepal’s Aki Zuben Rawat defeated Pakistan’s Mohammed Hujaifa Khan 6-3, 6-3, while Pakistan’s Hamid Isnar saw off Nepal’s Aarav Samrat Hada 7-5, 6-7 (4), 6-0 to level the tie.
In boys’ doubles, Rawat and Hada’s pair overcame Insnar and Khan’s pair 6-2, 6-2 to book the final berth.
Police, Manang confident of winning title

Nepal will take on India in the final, as the latter beat Sri Lanka in the other semifinals.
In girls’ category, Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 2-0 in the semifinals.
In girls’ singles, Nepal’s Aza Regmi overcame Sri Lanka’s Raja Karuna Liuekebendra 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, while Nepal’s Subhanghi Laxmi Shah was declared the winner as Sri Lanka’s Hasli was out with retired hurt when it was 4-1.
Nepal will take on India as the latter beat Bhutan 2-0 in its last four clash.
All the four teams will play in the ITF Asia U-12 Team Tennis Championship to be held in Kazakhstan in November.
The final matches will be played on Friday.
