ITAHARI, March 7: Divine Boys Union Club has reached the semifinals of the 19th International Invitational Tuborg Itahari Gold Cup Football Tournament defeating Kanchanjunga FC of Siliguri 1-0 on Tuesday.
Bartaman Rai scored the only goal of the match for Boys Union, which will now take on Kakarbhitta Training Center in the semifinal on Thursday.
In the last quarterfinal held at Janata Primary School's ground, Itahari, man-of-the-match Bartaman netted seven minutes after break, which turned out to be the decisive goal. Before putting the ball into Kanchanjunga's net, Bartaman collected a free kick from African recruit Moses.
In the first semifinal of the tournament, Church Boys United and Armed Police Force (Eastern Region) will vie on Wednesday.
