RUKUM, April 28: Police have arrested teenage couple from Jaidhune, Sanibheri rural municipality-7 on the charge of child marriage.
“An 18-year-old groom and 17-year-old bride were arrested from the wedding mandap (covered structure) itself few days back,” informed Simli Police Office Incharge Gagan Singh Thakuri.

Police have informed that the couple will be counseled well without any further punishment but if they do not follow the legal criteria, they will be taken into custody.
This is the 13th marriage being cancelled in the district in the name of child marriage.
