KATHMANDU, April 16: Buddha Air, a private sector airline, plans to expand its air network to, New Delhi, Dehradun and other destinations of neighboring country India.
Buddha Air is preparing to operate flights directly to New Delhi from Pokhara, a major tourist destination in the country. Buddha Air Information Officer Dipendra Kumar Karna informed that preparations are being made to fly to Delhi from Pokhara International Airport, which is currently under construction.

According to Karna, Buddha Air is also planning to operate flights from Pokhara to Dehradun, India. Two daily flights will be operated from Pokhara to Delhi. The flight to the destination takes one and half hours. The company has stated that it will fly to Delhi via ATR 72 aircraft previously used for international flights to Varanas and Kolkata, India.
Karna, also said that work is underway to complete all the required processes from both Nepal and India to operate regular flights. He said, "We are currently applying for the flight from Pokhara to Delhi. We will operate the flight with permission from the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation Authority and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India after completing the official procedure."
Similarly, Buddha Air is preparing to resume direct flights to Kathmandu-Banaras as well. “All the required process to operate the flight has been completed, only the confirmation letter is left to receive. We will operate the flight from May 1,” said Dipendra Kumar Karna.
