Buddhist organization calls for annulment of lease of Ramagrama Stupa excavation project

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: The Dharmodaya Sabha, the national Buddhist organization of Nepal, has demanded immediate cancellation of a project prepared to lease a private company for the construction and excavation of the historic Ramagrama Stupa for 99 years and the memorandum of understanding signed with the foreign organization.

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: The Dharmodaya Sabha, the national Buddhist organization of Nepal, has demanded immediate cancellation of a project prepared to lease a private company for the construction and excavation of the historic Ramagrama Stupa for 99 years and the memorandum of understanding signed with the foreign organization.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, the organization urged to forward the construction and excavation work of stupa under the leadership of the government. The organization also requested the government to respect the sentiments of the Buddhists across the world by canceling the project as the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Finance and the Department of Archeology have already said that the MoU is not lawful.
