Budget for Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport downsized by Rs 30 billion

KATHMANDU, May 29: The government has allocated Rs 131 .59 billion for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.


The budget for the ministry has been reduced by Rs 30 billion as Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat did not allocate budget for petty projects and earmarked budget for strategic projects that show results.

In the current fiscal year, the government had allocated a budget of Rs 161.56 billion for the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport. Finance Minister Dr Mahat said that the government has prepared the budget for the fiscal year 2023/24 with the slogan of the second phase of economic reform and structural change of the economy.
