KATHMANDU, May 7: The annual session of both houses of the Federal Parliament is starting from today. The budget session of the House is about to begin as President Ram Chandra Paudel has called a session of the Parliament in accordance with Article 93, Clause (1) of the Constitution of Nepal.
The Secretariat of the Federal Parliament has already requested all members of parliament to attend the session called for today at 4 PM at the International Conference in New Baneshwor. The government's policies and programs and budget will be presented mainly in this session.
Budget session begins today
Since the pre-budget discussion will be held at the beginning of the session, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Saran Mahat will submit a proposal to discuss the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the financial year 2023/24 (except the tax proposal) in today's meeting.
It is mentioned in the agenda that in today's meeting of the House, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will read out the letter from the President regarding the summoning of the Parliament session and the latest appointment of the new minister while welcoming the members of Parliament. Nomination of the member to preside over the meeting and submission of Ordinance, 2080 BS to amend some of Nepal's Civil Code by the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs are also included in the possible agenda.
