By-polls in Pictures

The by-elections for the 52 vacant positions of different political representatives including one for the House of Representatives, three for provincial assemblies and 48 at local units were held in the country on Saturday. The by-polls were largely peaceful. Voter turnout, too was enthusiastic. Republica photojournalists captured the by-polls moments at different places through their lenses.

1.People participate in the by-polls held for the vacant position of ward chairperson of Indrawati Rural Municiplaity-8, Sindhupalchowk district. Election authorities said the voter turnout was more than 84 percent. 



2. A woman casts her vote at a polling booth in Panchthar district where by-polls were held for vacant positions at three local units. Authorities said the voter turnout was 66 percent at  this polling center.
