KATHMANDU, May 7: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has banned all helicopter flights of Simrik Air.
The authority has banned the flight of other helicopters belonging to the company regarding the issue of the helicopter accident of Simrik Air in Sankhuwasabha on Friday.
CAAN bans 'mountain flight' during monsoon
The authority said it has banned all helicopter flights of the company until further notice. According to the information, there will be no flights until the inspection of other helicopters and the audit of the company.
On Friday, the accident took place at Hammaredanda of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 while landing. The helicopter was carrying construction materials for the Upper Arun Hydropower Project.
Captain Surendra Paudel, assistant captain Manoj Thapa, Chhiring Bhote and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Bikram Gurung were injured in the accident while Bhabin Gurung died.
