Jagannath Niraula, spokesperson for CAAN, said that the authority has instructed action against the pilots for not following the instructions of the ATC. Action has been taken against pilots Nar Bahadur Bishwakarma, Rajesh Kushwaha and Udhav Ghimire.

"The civil aviation authority in Hong Kong informed us about the pilots not obeying the instructions of the ATC," he said. "On this basis, we have instructed the NAC to suspend the three pilots."

According to him, pilots Kushwaha and Ghimire have come in contact with the CAAN. He mentioned that NAC will take further steps in this regard.

Similarly, NAC has said that it is not certain how long the three pilots will be suspended. Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, spokesperson for NAC, said that they were suspended as soon as CAAN instructed.

“We have submitted a report of root cause analysis to CAAN. Now, we are waiting for CAAN’s instruction on whether to extend the suspension of the pilots,” Ghimire said.
