KATHMANDU, June 11: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the regulatory body of the country's aviation sector, has lifted the flight suspension of Captain Bhawana Pant of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).
On June 3, CAAN suspended Captain Pant, who flies NAC's narrow-body aircraft 'A320-200', from 'active duty' for violating flight safety provisions at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
CAAN to lift NAC Senior Captain Lama’s suspension, to fine him...
A complaint was filed against Pant for giving an interview in a sensitive area of the TIA.
However, an investigation into the complaint confirmed that Pant had given the interview with the prior approval of the airport management. After that, her suspension was lifted, CAAN said.
On the other hand, the suspension of NAC's Senior Captain Bijay Lama, who was prosecuted along with Pant, continues. Lama flies a wide-body aircraft 'Airbus a330-200' of the NAC.
