CAAN to implement electronic bird deterrent system in airports across Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced plans to install an electronic system to mitigate bird-related hazards at the airport. The CAAN is going to install this electronic bird deterrent system in all the airports that are currently in operation.

For this, the CAAN has asked for an application on Thursday. Interested companies can submit proposals by March 25. "The problem of 'bird hit' has been felt in regular flights at various airports," Jagannath Niraula, spokesperson of the CAAN, said. "We have expedited the process to install equipment to solve this problem."


The CAAN is also preparing to install equipment with the latest technology to control bird related risks at all three international airports.
