KATHMANDU, April 15: The government has decided to take a loan of USD 150 million, equivalent to Rs 18 billion from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank.
The decision to accept the loan amount was taken by a Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki informed media persons at a press conference organized today.

He also said that the Cabinet meeting has decided to accept grant aid of USD 659 million (Rs 79.72 billion) from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Similarly, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the acquisition of about 280 ropanis of land in Sanni Triveni village of Kalikot district for the Phukot-Karnali Semi-Reservoir Hydroelectric Project.
The Cabinet also approved the promotion of Additional Inspector General (AIG) Pushparam KC of the Armed Police Force to the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) and allowed Mayadevi Rural Municipality to use public land to build a basic hospital, among other decisions.
The Cabinet also accepted the resignation of chairman Ram Adhar Kapar of Rastriya Awas Company Limited.
